Sword Camp

For seven days in late summer, we set everything else aside to concentrate on swordsmanship and related topics full-time during the day. In the evening hours we hold tournaments, sit around the fire, tell tales of past exploits and recover.

There are two tracks for instruction: Basic and Advanced.

Beginners and students who want to improve their form may participate in the Basic track. This is an intensive compressed version of the original Basic Swordsmanship class. Beginners must prepare for this process with strength and flexibility training as the physical demands are strenuous and the time period does not allow for a gradual build during the training. These students will participate in their first tournament at the end of the week.

The Advanced track is for students who have completed Basic Swordsmanship. It is comprised of topics our students have requested like woods combat, advanced first aid, knife fighting and the current favorite: Jedi vs. Ninja Day. Advanced track offerings are finalized and made public several months before the start of Sword Camp. If you are not able to take the entire week of Advanced offerings, you may sign up only for the days you are most interested in.

Both tracks meet for 8 hours each day. Both are mentally and physically strenuous, but thus far every Sword Camp participant has declared the week more than worth the effort.

Space for Sword Camp is very limited and fills quickly. Reserve your spot as soon as possible!
